CNY Hair @ Number76 , Mont Kiara

IMG_7763

Hello !

Went to Number76 or also known as 76style with Miss Hermes yesterday ! It's my first time going to hair salon with a friend and do hair together !( but her rebonding took longer so I abandon her and went for lunch hehe ) #badfriend.

But I bought her Subway ok. #excuses

Anyways ~ it's my second time visiting Number76 ( Mont Kiara branch ) , my first time was last year when I first dyed my hair ! But it was just a normal dark brown color that I did before I went for the MMK audition ! ( * v * ) This time I have much shorter hair and initially I wanted to dye a darker color plus ombre but my hair is too short ! So my hair stylist , Mr Sato , suggested me to dip dye pink on one side !

It took around 3 hours ? I touched up my black roots too and trimmed my fringe too ! I guess I wasn't brave enough to dye my whole head PINK. Shall try another color after CNY ! For now I'm really happy with the result ~ it's something new for me , love it ! Plus , Mr Sato is really nice !! ( >//////< ) #thumbsup

I wonder what color will it be when it fades after a few wash ~ can't wait ! ♥ ♥

p/s : If you wanna get your hair done by Number76 , do make a reservation beforehand or you'll have to wait really long because they are fully booked ! :-)

Shopping in Shenzhen | Hong Kong Day Two

IMG_7404

Hello guys !

Back with my Hong Kong trip day two post ! Just in case I forgotten all about it if I blog later ~ plus I have lots of assignments to catch up on actually ... * bad student * Will be back to Sabah for CNY a week earlier which means I will be missing a couple of classes ! #die

So during my second day in Hong Kong ~ I've decided to visit Shenzhen ! Never been to Shenzhen before so I don't know what to expect but my mother told me that it's a shopping paradise , cheaper and better than Hong Kong ! Not really keen on sight seeing in Hong Kong because I've visited almost all the tourist spots during my family trip back in 2005 ! So yeah , my aim is ONLY SHOPPING ! ( * v * )

So this post will be about my shopping experience in Shenzhen , some tips and reminder for you guys who wanted to visit Shenzhen one day ! Hope this post is helpful !

So how did I get to Shenzhen from Hong Kong ?

The most convenient way would be travelling via the MTR Subway. From Cosmopolitan Hotel , Wan Chai - I took a cab to Hung Hom Station where you can get a train to Lo Wu Station. It's like a 45 min train ride there ~ so please don't forget the most important thing to get you through the border , YOUR PASSPORT !

Yes , you will need a passport and also a Chinese Visa to enter Shenzhen ! If you haven't made your visa , don't worry , you can make it on the spot at the immigration ~ I did mine there too but you can only stay for 5 days max.

Almost 12 stops to reach Lo Wu Station ( Shenzhen ). It's better that you sit because it'll be a looooooong ride. D;

You will see majority of the people bring luggage and bags. I guess you can expect lots of cheap and nice shopping experience , that's why you need to bring your luggage along. But don't bring super big luggage hor , the immigration has a luggage size limit !

Bored in the train .

After 45 mins of train ride ~ ( and long troublesome immigration check later ) I'm finally here in Shenzhen !! The train station itself was super packed ~ people with luggages everywhere ~ some even have big boxes ..... At this point I would imagine myself shopping like crazy also ~ since everyone bought so many things LOL.

So the first place I visited is the Luo Hu Commercial Centre ! To be honest , unless your are interested in replica watches , handbags or shoes , jewellery , cheongsam etc , then you can just skip this place. Kinda annoying that the shopkeeper keep pestering you to visit their shop and they are quite persistent too. Was kinda disappointed when I went in there because it's a highly recommended place to visit for shopping in Shenzhen. To me , Luo Hu Commercial Centre = Petaling Street in Malaysia.

Another tip here , they will raise their price quite high so you gotta bargain , like offer 30% of the price they are giving. If they don't agree or say cannot , just walk away .. they will call you back lol. Seriously you cannot be shy when it comes to bargaining here !

The shopkeeper lied to me here too lol. I asked them where I can get trendy ladies clothes ~ they say they don't know and tried to keep me away from Dong Men telling me lots of pick pocket because nearing CNY. Tell me nothing to see there ~ what the. Where all the honest people nowadays ? #disappointed

Pick pockets are real though. Be careful of your bags when you are shopping ! :-) Wouldn't wanna lose your money and passport !

However , I did discover an awesome shopping place for the ladies ! ( the guys too ). This is Dong Men Street , just two train stops away from Lo Wu Station ! You can forget about taking cab because there's at least 200 people waiting for cabs. #notkidding

I don't really have much time to explore this place because I woke up late and only arrived Shenzhen at 4pm ~ so I basically dash my way through and not much pictures taken also ! Will definitely do more research and re-visit Shenzhen again !

A tip for you ~ most shopping malls in Shenzhen only accept RMB ! They do accept HKD also but at a higher rate. Most shops do not accept credit card so make sure you have enough cash ! :-)

Dong Men Street is a place very much alike our Sungei Wang in KL. There are a few shopping malls around so you will have to explore a bit ~ I only get to visit two shopping malls and I'm pretty sure there are more that I haven't discovered lol !

My first impression was " WA OMG ALL THE CLOTHES AND SHOES !! " But I wasn't too hopeful also la ~ I thought the price will be like Luo Wu Commercial Centre , have to bargain and all ... but to my surprise ~ you can get a shirt for 50 RMB , sweater for 75 RMB and a hat for 48 RMB. So it's like you take it or leave it , the shopkeeper won't bother giving you discount , unless you visit those more high end ones.

You can find everything trendy here - clothing , hat , accessories , shoes , handbags and lingerie. But since it's winter season now so all the shops were selling sweaters , shirts , coats. If you wanna buy summer clothing , you should visit around May. ( *____ * )

IMG_7433

Dong Men offers a wide variety of fashionable items for the men too ! I'm surprised at how well the men here dress ~ all so swag lol. I think they really take time to make sure that they look good ! The men's clothing were so nice that I wanted to buy from them too lol !

There are so many things to see here at Dong Men that you won't regret coming ~ at first I was thinking why would I get through so much trouble to get here ~ but after seeing Dong Men , I felt that it's all worth it !! Even bought a luggage to bring my shopping loot around !

That coat with lots of buttons remind me of T.O.P. It feels like something that he would wear !

IMG_7432

#13

My OOTD !

Camo Jacket - Sungei Wang , Top - Mont Kiara Flea Market , Skirt - H&M and Bag - Topshop.

Glad that I brought this jacket to Hong Kong even though it's quite heavy ! It really keeps me warm and Shenzhen is even colder than Hong Kong !

Dong Men at night !

IMG_7439

#15

Cuttlefish snack !

Don't ever worry if you got hungry while shopping ~ food stalls are everywhere ! Sometimes I got distracted while doing my shopping because the food smell too seductive already !! ( * V * ) There's a wide variety of Shenzhen snacks around ~ you won't regret trying it !

IMG_7441

#16

No need to worry if you bought too many things and can't carry all of them ~ you can find luggage shops here at Dong Men. They know already that you will shop like crazy so they took the opportunity to open a luggage store here LOL. They have lots of of cute luggage to choose from ! Look at those pink polkadot luggage ! SO CUTE CAN !

IMG_7442

#17

Here's my luggage ! Show a a clearer picture of her later !

IMG_7444

#18

Shop until I didn't eat a proper dinner so I got my fav bread from 7-ll ! They don't sell these in Malaysia , nearest only Singapore ! I never miss my chance to eat em whenever I visit Singapore ! #shy

Say hi to my BABY PINK LUGGAGE. OH YEAH !! ♥ ♥

I always wanted a nice pink luggage but I know that it won't last long if I check this in the airport ~ it's be literally be mauled by other luggage and the airport staff will simply throw it anyways. So I asked the luggage man if this size is allowed in the plane , and he said yes.

OK HE LIED TO ME. I should have gotten a smaller one but oh well. He's selling this one for RM 150 only !!! I can never get this price here in Malaysia !! * mad love *

IMG_7448

#20

My shopping love from Shenzhen !! I didn't shop much la actually. Only 3 shirts , 2 sweaters , 1 jacket and 3 hats ! Skater skirts and sweaters were everywhere but I have too many sweaters and the skirts are too short for me ! No shoes for me too because my feet size too big . #sad.

Perhaps I should visit during summer ! Bet there will be more dresses and nice tops !! ( * w * )

Hong Kong Day Three - Ocean Park post up next !!!

Hong Kong Trip | Day One

IMG_7349

Hello guys !

I'm back from my short trip to Hong Kong ! I kinda miss Hong Kong's cold weather already ~ it was so cooling and my sweaters were perfect for the weather ! Everyone in Hong Kong were wearing sweater , scarves , coats and leggings/pantyhose. I really enjoy looking at what people wear on the street ~ they were so fashionable !

Anyways , this holiday wasn't planned so for me it's more like just exploring and walking around. Sight-seeing , shopping and eating lol ! I kinda regret now that I didn't do much research because I didn't get to shop much ~ #sadface. Plus my hotel was kinda far from all the shopping hotspots .... #supersad

But I do get to visit OCEAN PARK ! Like finally !! Will blog about it soon ! hehe :-)

So here's Day One of my Hong Kong trip !

Woke up super early for my flight ~ it was a 3 hours and 50 minutes flight to Hong Kong ! Gosh ... I usually don't travel that far unless it's a bus ride. Flying with Airasia again this time because it's way cheaper if you book flights + hotel together. That's my tip for you ! But of course the flight won't be so comfortable la .. especially for me because I'm quite tall and not much leg space for me.

If you want to have a more pleasant experience , I suggest you pay extra RM 30 to pick Hot Seats. Usually people don't wanna pay for it so big chance you get to sit alone plus hot seats have more leg space ! #thumbsup

Then if you plan to shop a lot , please do upgrade your luggage limit ! I got myself a 25 KG luggage allowance just in case ! ( > _____ < )

Had my breakfast at LCCT before my 8 am flight ! It's a Hong Kong style Wantan Mee. I love the wantan but not the noodles. Seems tasteless to me though , or maybe because I was sick. LOL.

Down with flu and cough before my holidays. #truestory

IMG_7358

Touched down Hong Kong around 12 pm ? I listened to SNSD's " I got a Boy " like repeatedly during the flight. So it wasn't so bad. I'm just glad that I reached HK because I was super hungry !! All I can think about is FOOD ! :p

IMG_7363

#4

My first meal in Hong Kong ! Had Chicken Rice ! Was kinda disappointed with the chicken because I asked for chicken breast but they gave chicken thigh instead , with lots of bones. Overall it's quite yummy ~ I love the rice , veggie and soup ! ( * V * )

IMG_7364

My OOTD ! ( ignore my derpy face please LOL )

Sweater and Skirt from H&M , Denim Shirt from Sungei Wang , Hairband from Diva Accessories.

Travelling around Hong Kong is actually quite convenient , if you don't mind walking a bit. Taxi is kinda expensive here ~ so I recommend you to buy a daily MTR train pass. It's more affordable this way ! Got myself a 3-day train pass that comes with a ride to airport !

Train ride from HKIA to Hong Kong takes around 25 mins ~ it's really fast and the train comes every 5 mins or so. Super efficient !

During my 4D3N trip to Hong Kong , I stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel @ Wan Chai. I have mixed feelings about this hotel , happy and sad ~ it's quite far from the shopping areas that I wanted to visit like Mongkok , Tsim Sha Tsui , etc. Plus I didn't know that there's a huge cemetery behind the hotel. ( - ___- || )

What I like about this hotel is that the staffs were really helpful and friendly. This hotel also provides shuttle buses to the Hong Kong train station where they'll pick up after you took the train from airport. They provide shuttle buses to Causeway Bay too , where you'll find Times Square Shopping Mall. The best part is that they provide FREE wi-fi at the lobby ! ( you have to pay for internet in HK ) Not only that , they also have comfy sofa /coach where you can sit and surf all the internet you want LOL.

I can't live without internet so it's a HUGE plus point for me !!

Otherwise , the room is small and clean. Nothing special about it except I got the cemetery view. Lucky the glass is tinted so it's still fine.

While heading out for shopping exploration ~ I came across this cute Hello Kitty bus !! Hong Kong have lots of adorable things and you can find Hello Kitty stuff in their very own 7-11 ! 7-11 is around almost every corner of the city ! Happy max !

IMG_7378

MTR in Hong Kong is pretty convenient ~ you can go almost everywhere using the train ! But becareful hor , while using the elevator , please stand on the right side. I got scolded by an uncle because I stood on the left side LOL. I'm used to standing on the left because Malaysia and Singapore also the same ~ so I was kinda shocked when the uncle scolded me. #sadface

Anyways , took a train to Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok ! Kinda sad that I didn't get to see what I want. I was hoping that I can find trendy clothes , accessories or shopping mall but Mongkok seems to be a touristy area. All I saw was luggage , hats , t-shirts , keychains , sexy costumes , soft toys etc. If you are interested in fashionable clothings , Mongkok's Ladies Street is not for you. But it's a nice place to feel the atmosphere of Hong Kong ~ busy and bustling with people. Very lively ! :-)

Curry Fish Balls , Smelly Tofu and Waffles seems to be very popular in Hong Kong. Like 7-11 and SASA , you can see this almost every corner in the city !!

IMG_7390

#21

Turns out they are having sales and promotion now ~ From what I saw , it seems that you can get a limited edition pink Etude House luggage if you purchase 5000 HKD worth of products LOL !! I went in for a look but there were too many people so I left without buying anything . #shy

IMG_7396

#22

IMG_7375

#23

Honestly I was just wandering around blindly ~ there were lots of shops around Mong Kok and if you are lucky , you will stumble upon few shopping spots. I managed to find a few boutiques but as expected it wasn't that cheap. Saw a cat sweater but it was around 400 HKD so I gave up on it LOL.

IMG_7392

#24

Stumbled upon a store selling clothes and accessories for BJD ! BJD stands for Ball Jointed Dolls if you don't know. I'm didn't take much people because I'm pretty sure they won't allow it so I just snapped the pix of the shoes that they were selling ! If I'm a doll owner , I will definitely go crazy in this shop ! SO MANY PRETTY THINGS. Just look at these shoes ! Just too cute ! ( * _____ * )

IMG_7395

#25

I think Hong Kong people LOVES TOYS. Toy shops are everywhere ! Rillakuma , Hello Kitty , Alpaca , Bears , Spongebob , everywhere !! This is my new found love ! Aren't these bears adorable ? Guess how much is the smallest one ?

IMG_7394

#26

It's 185 HKD for the smallest bear LOL. Now that I'm back in KL , I secretly wished that I bought one because it's just toooooo cuuuteeeee !! Especially the one in the middle with pink bow !! #sigh

IMG_7398

#27

I don't know why but I feel like I'm cursed. It's so difficult for me to find food around my hotel area. I just wanted my fav roast duck and roast pork rice and I couldn't find any. Ridiculous hor ? So I end up eating in my hotel LOL. I was really starving because my last meal was the chicken rice and totally forgotten bout having dinner !! ( blame all the shopping lol ) Shop until forgot to eat . :p

IMG_7607

#33

Time to show you my loot of the day ! Surprisingly I didn't get to shop much. Nothing really interest me ~ except this particular shop in Mongkok ! Got myself this pair of cute tiger socks !

IMG_7605

#34

AND THIS LAGUNA MOON INSPIRED CAT BAG ! ♥ ♥

IMG_7606

#35

Okay la , even it's not the real thing but I'm so glad that I found something cat related ! It's only 100 HKD !! I can't believe it when I saw this on display ~ It's 250 HKD initially but if your buy something from the shop ( anything ) you can get it for 100 HKD only ! Thus , the reason I bought that Tiger Socks above lol.

Another tip for you ~ please do wear comfortable shoes when u travel in Hong Kong ! You will be doing lots of walking so sport shoes or sneakers will do fine. Don't action and wear high heels hor , you will regret and crawl back to hotel crying lol !

This ends my first day in Hong Kong !! Day 2 and Day 3 will be more exciting ~ stay tuned !

With Love ,

Cheryl
