6 DAY BLACKMORES COLLAGEN CHALLENGE REVIEW

As I grow older , I want to age gracefully ... hoping that I still look good regardless of age. Is it just me that time passed by really fast this year ? With a blink of an eye , it's already March ! In three months time , I will be one year older.

To be honest , I'm really scared of looking unattractive. I mean it's only natural for a girl to feel so right ? ( I'm not the only vain person here right ????! ) That's why I try my best to work out whenever I have time , eat cleaner / healthier meals and drink more water. Of course , I'm still tempted by all the desserts and pizza !!!

As a Costume Artist , I couldn't stick to sleeping early or resting more because my working hours are super odd. I put on make up quite often for photo shoot / video shoot. I travel overseas a lot and the flights hours made me really tired sometimes.

So I took this photo during my trip in Fukuoka , Japan.

This is taken using my new camera and even with portrait mode , you can see that my skin is kinda rough , my laughter lines are very obvious and I look really tired.

I was kinda shocked to be honest . 

Do I really look like this now ? Ah , so sad. 

With photos , if I look tired I could just put extra filters on it and it's passable but I want to look good in real life too. That's what I thought !

So when I got back to KL , a friend recommended that I should try taking some supplements or try drinking collagen ! It is said that cabin crews who had to work long hours drinks collagen as well to look better. 

I'm not big on supplements because I'm a lazy person. The thoughts of waking up and having to eat all sorts of pills scares me .But oh well , there is no harm in trying right ? So I went to the nearest pharmacy and got myself a box of collagen !

There are various brands but I picked Blackmores .

( because that's the only brand name I recognized , they make a lot of health supplements ! ) 

According to the packaging , the benefits of drinking collagen includes skin firming , reducing fine lines and pores , skin brightening , and more . Basically it means that it's good for your skin . If you are vain , then you should try it lol .

I got the Blacksmore 10 000 MG High Strength Collagen , it has 12 bottles per box . As instructed , I drink one bottle per day for six consecutive days and then one bottle every two days for maintenance.

I didn't manage to take the Day 0 photo because I wasn't expecting to share about this since I'm not sure whether it works or not. When I showed this to my Princess Hermes , she was like : " God ask you to stop putting make up and just bare face is enough ! "

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

But that wouldn't work because my job requires me to be in thick make up !

I mean cosplay and make up go hand in hand right . (plus all the late night crafting / sewing that I couldn't avoid. )

I uploaded this picture on my Instagram / Twitter and some commented the change in skintone. Honestly , I can't comment if I become fairer because I'm already quite fair to begin with. However you can clearly see that my skin became more radiant right ?

Before the Collagen Challenge I think that I look like a tired housewife that has done to much housework and patiently wait for her husband to return home lol.  The collagen definitely made my skin texture better , reduced my laughter lines and I don't look that tired anymore.

Of course this collagen isn't a magic potion.

Upon returning from Fukuoka , besides drinking collagen : I resumed going to gym about 4 times a week , I still sleep late about 1am but I wake up 7am every morning. Diet wise nothing much changed ,I just avoid eating after 8pm.

I think drinking collagen made me feel better about myself. Usually I look pale , especially my lips ! After drinking collagen daily ,my cheeks are much rosier . Generally , I just feel more confident going out without make up now.

This is written based on my own observation , so I'm not sure if it will work the same for other people. My bro who tried collagen before told me that it doesn't work for her. I guess it's really up to each individual. I don't think that collagen will magically make someone younger , some effort is still needed . After all ,supplements are just to aid you right ?

I think it's good to drink this when you have an important event upcoming. Like a wedding or something and you want to look better. ( in a short time ) It would be difficult to maintain having this though because it's a little pricey to me.

I shall continue for a month and I'll update again soon.

Cupcat Images Studio , Kuala Lumpur

Hello Everyone ! (*´∀｀*人*´∀｀*)

Today I would like to share with you my new love , Cupcat Images Studio ! You know , all along I feel very envious of cosplayers overseas that have really nice photography studio like in Taiwan, Korea and Japan. We don't have fancy studios here in Malaysia with themes , usually only basic ones with black or white background. 

I was really excited last year when I first heard about Cupcat Images Studio in Kuala Lumpur. My first photoshoot there was my Kotori Minami ( Christmas ver. ) when they were having a seasonal Christmas theme going on. It was just a small space back then but in mere few months , they expanded and now they have more space and more themes available !

Yesterday I went for a two hour photoshoot for my Nozomi with Soo Weai ! We were renting the " Checkered Theme " for our Love Live Cafe Maid Awakened ver. Had this costume since last year , made for AFA SG but couldn't find a suitable location for shoot.

Today I went for another photoshoot , because it's their last day for the " Valentines Theme ". This is another seasonal theme , so it'll be taken down after today ! What I like about this theme is that , the owners of the studio actually DIY this set by themselves ! It's really similar to the Love Live Valentines card so many cosplayers actually came here for LL Valentines shoot !  ლ(´◉❥◉｀ლ)

Been saving this costume since Valentines Day ? Was busy for months due to events and costume making so I rarely have time for a proper photoshoot. Glad to be able to shoot in this theme before it's over !

This is their " European White Theme". My favorite theme among all so far ! I like white rooms very much with white furniture and flowers. Not forgetting the chandelier , it's gorgeous !

They have lots of mirrors everywhere because they know that cosplayers like to look at themselves lol. It's really thoughtful because I would love to check on my pose and costumes once in awhile during photoshoot !

I like this studio a lot because it feels like it satisfies all the needs of a cosplayer , a comfortable and convenient place to have a photoshoot ! They have changing rooms and a place for you to do your make up and their studio are well equipped with photography equipments too !

AND THEY HAVE TWO CATS IN THE STUDIO !!

This is Gatsby , a naughty boy that likes to follow people around. Whenever there is people , he will walk over and lay down or observe what we are doing lol. He is super cute and loving too ! There is another cat called Miao Miao but I didn't get a photo of him because he is kinda shy around people XD

Overall , I really enjoy my experience in Cupcats Images Studio. The owners are friendly and always ready to assist us whenever we needed help. They have a few washrooms / changing rooms , a pantry , and even safety pins or hairpins if you need one lol. I can feel that they are passionate about this , trying their best to create more themes and variety for everyone. The rental price are reasonable too , and even more affordable if you share with your friends ! It's nicely maintained and clean environment too.

Right now they are still working on the new themes , I'm super excited to check it out again when everything is done ~ they will be having more seasonal themes too in the future ! So for those who wants to rent a space for cosplay photoshoot or just for casual or themed photoshoot , I personally recommend this lovely place !

ASUS Strix Gaming Gears Review

Hello guys !

As you all know I'm totally crazy about gaming especially FPS ( First Person Shooter ) games and League of Legends. I've been gaming with PS4 until last year I finally switched over to Gaming Desktop. Before this I play League using my old laptop which I end up disconnecting in games or lagged so badly that I couldn't reconnect. I love League a lot but I couldn't even enjoy a bit back then. 

When I got my gaming desktop , I was super stoked ! The very first game that I installed was League of Legends and also started playing Steam Games. Much thanks to all of you who always send me games , I could never run out of games to play !

For those who wants to know about my gaming desktop specs , here it is :

In February 2015 , I was lucky enough to be one of the few in Malaysia to get to try out the new ASUS STRIX Gaming Peripheral. Thank you ASUS Malaysia for the awesome gaming gears !

I'm just a casual gamer who enjoys playing games with my friends besides costume making and cosplaying during my free time. I do stream my game plays once in awhile via Twitch. Can't express how much the new STRIX gaming series help me during my games and stream.

Since the majority of my gaming desktop parts are from ASUS , imagine my excitement when I'm given the opportunity to test out these awesome gaming gears ! It's my first time doing a review on gaming peripheral as well.

My first impression upon receiving the STRIX Gaming Series is that the packaging looks premium ! It comes with a big colorful packaging and quality weight. The items inside is beautifully presented with all the standard documentations.

The word STRIX is taken from the ancient Greek and Roman word for " Owl ", which also means the keenest hearing and sharpest eyesight. Which explains the beautiful design of the Strix series , having an owl logo everywhere in their product.

1. STRIX Tactical Pro Gaming Mechanical Keyboard.

First off , let me start with the keyboard ! To be honest , this is my first time using a mechanical keyboard. Before this , I'm using a normal keyboard. Let me tell you this , a mechanical keyboard really does wonders !

My first reaction when holding the keyboard was " Whoa , it's heavy ! " It has a solid and heavy feel to it which makes the keyboard steady even during spirited keyboard jamming. It's presented in STRIX matte black and amber lettering for the keys.

The keyboard also comes with programmable macro buttons and back light with a minimum of 21 extra macro buttons. If you are a first timer like me , do not worry because the programming for the keys are made easy with the STRIX software to assign the buttons.

The USB cable on the keyboard is thick and solid plus it's mesh braided. It also comes in generous length for those who likes to game in living room. Usage wise , the buttons are spot on and precise. 

It's a plus for me especially when I play League a  lot , the accurate executing of commands when timing is very important. The number of missed timings has greatly reduced during my gaming session. It is indeed , lightning fast response , as promised !

2. STRIX Claw Optical Gaming Mouse

Next up is the mouse ! Size wise , it's really comfortable on my palms. It's designed for all grip styles. It has a matte rubber-ish finish , which is similar to the mechanical keyboard. 

Just like the keyboard , the mouse also comes with generous length for the cable with angled braided fiber that's non-tangling ! So say goodbye to all the annoying tangles that I'm facing all the while.

This mouse is also crafted specially for First Person Shooting Gamers. Although I haven't personally used the feature yet , it has a de-clutch feature which is useful for gamers that's using a sniper rifle. It basically allows the player to manually decide to decrease/increase the sensitivity of the aim to provide a sharper aim when using a scope.

I think that the overall usage of the mouse satisfying with a comfortable grip as well as a quality weightage when moving the mouse.

3. STRIX Glide Control Mouse Pad

The mouse is also supported by the mouse pad by STRIX.  The mouse pad is quite big , which I like a lot because it has more space for movement. It is made out of premium weave fabric with embroidered edges.

The textured surface of the mouse pad provides accurate controlled movement, smooth and precise gliding for the mouse.

4. STRIX Pro Gaming Headset.

My first impression of the headset was , " Wow so big ! " Previously I was using a Razer Kraken , the size of the STRIX headset is definitely bigger than Razer Kraken's. 

It has an interesting cup design which when folded looks like the bird eyes of STRIX. There is a non-adjustable microphone that can be detached when not in use. On top of the headband is a soft padded gel that is stretchable like a band.

The sound quality is really good and what I like the most  about the STRIX Pro is that it has a environmental noise cancelling technology that filters out 90 % of noises. ( which means you can't hear my mechanical keyboard sound or my cats meowing ! )

It also comes with a USB Powered Control Box , where you can adjust the volume as well as activate noise cancelling , including muting and turning the sound off entirely. Loving this feature very much as it filters out distracting noises so that it won't affect your team mates while in game.

It's also compatible with not only PC and Mac computers but smartphones , other consoles and tablets as well. The STRIX Pro is extremely comfortable to wear , even when I stream my games on Twitch for hours , I don't have a problem with it. 

My overall opinion about the STRIX Gaming Series is that the gaming package is very good as it has increased my gaming experience as a whole. I wouldn't say that I'm very good in gaming , but with these new gears , things has certainly improved and it's noticeable. It's easier for me to stream too because the headset is so easy to use that it doesn't require any tuning , just plug it in and it's ready to use !

The environmental noise cancelling feature is my favorite because my cats tend to meow a lot when I'm playing games , it helps a lot that it doesn't distract my team mates when we are playing League. I like the angled braided fiber cables for the keyboard , mouse and headset , it's knot and tangle-free now !
